As Chief Executive Officer of the Cogent Skills Group, Justine is committed to ensuring science industry employers can access the workforce skills needed for success. With a background in skills development of more than 20 years, Justine is a passionate advocate for vocational and technical skills as a means of opening up opportunities for everyone.
In March 2023, together with the National Composite Centre, Justine established the Hydrogen Skills Alliance to identify and address the skills challenges involved in meeting the UK’s clean energy targets for Hydrogen. Earlier this year, it launched a Strategic Plan for Hydrogen Skills, commissioned by the Hydrogen Delivery Council, describing how to create an ecosystem that ensures the right skills are available at the right time and in the right places for the UK’s hydrogen economy to thrive.
Justine regularly represents the views of employers through influential regional, national and devolved Governmental policy advisory groups which shape skills policy affecting the life sciences, chemical and low carbon industries – in order to help employers attract and retain the talent they need across the sector.
Before joining Cogent Skills, Justine held a number of senior commercial roles in food and drink manufacturing and is a graduate of Strathclyde University.
