Dr Nigel Holmes is CEO of the Scottish Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association (SHFCA) since 2011. Nigel first became involved in renewables and hydrogen twenty years ago, joining SHFCA as an individual member when it was established in 2004 and Chief Executive of SHFCA since April 2011.
Many of our SHFCA members are located across Scotland including Aberdeen, Cromarty, Fife, Orkney and the Western Isles are leading the way with hydrogen production and fuel cell deployment. Highlights include the expanding hydrogen bus fleet in Aberdeen, hydrogen production from renewable energy in Orkney for hard-to-treat applications including aviation, and the H100 Fife hydrogen for domestic heating user trials now under construction in Methil.
SHFCA has an increasing number of members across the United Kingdom and Europe who are part the growing hydrogen supply chain and becoming involved in the increasing number and scale of hydrogen projects in Scotland. SHFCA has also established links with over 40 trade associations who are supporting the development and deployment of hydrogen and fuel cells for decarbonisation of the energy system.
